UNDERWATER INSPECTION IN LIEU OF DRY DOCKING

PURPOSE:

Underwater Inspection in Liew of Dry Dock (UWILD) is a provision by the Classification Society which allows the Ship Owner to arrange an Underwater Video Hull Inspection of the Hull so the vessel doesn’t require to do Dry Dock. This is applicable only for the first Intermediate Survey (2.5 Yearly Survey). The Scope of the UWILD/IWS is basis on Class Notation with a mandatory requirement for Tail shaft wear-down and rudder pintle clearances along with CCTV video.
