NEWZEALAND / AUSTRALIAN STANDARD HULL GROOMING

With recent amendments in the regulations, countries like Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and USA are focussing a lot on the vessels coming in to their port limits. They emphasize to have an active Bio-fouling management record and instructs the Shipping companies to get their vessels Hull Cleaning prior arrival to their countries.

Australia have Hull Cleaning standards under IMS (Invasive Marine Species) which is monitored by Department of Agriculture, whereas New Zealand have CRMS (Craft Risk Management System) based Hull Cleaning Standards monitored by Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI).

In a Nutshell, this Hull Cleaning/Grooming is an in-depth process of removing the Marine growth from all parts of the Hull specially Niche Areas such as Bilge Keels, Internal Sea Chests, overboard Discharges, transducers, Rope Guard, Tail Shaft, Rudder and Thrusters etc. The Cleaning of the Niche areas are usually done by Hydro blasting due to complex structures the Manual or Brush cleaning is not possible for these areas.

Areas like Inside of Rope Guard are usually cleaned by Steam Cleaning.

Ergono Solutions are expert in arranging and managing these Hull Cleaning Operation’s globally and provides reports which adheres to the individual countries report requirements.
